Sierras West Calgary Enterance

Sierras West is an “independent living” condominium community for people aged 40 and above.  The vast majority of the condominiums at Sierras West are occupied by the owners of the condos.  Pets (one cat or dog per unit) must be small in size and approved by the Board prior to residency.  Each condo unit is assigned one parking stall and storage locker in the parkade.  Some units also have a second parking stall and storage locker that are titled to the unit owner.  There are a few parking stalls and storage lockers owned by the Condo Corporation that are offered for rent to residents.

The community is an active one where residents may participate in numerous weekly and monthly events.  All Board and Committee positions are staffed by volunteers.  Although the condo has a front office, it is not open on a regular basis, but the office has a mail slot that is routinely checked.  The Condominium corporation employs a property management company.  The contact information for the property management company is:

Sierras West amenities are numerous and include:  Pool, Hot Tub, Fitness Centre, Craft and Puzzle Room, Library, Woodwork Shop, 3 Wash Bays, Heated Parkade, Bicycle Racks, 5 Guest Suites, Pool Tables, Shuffleboard, Games Room, Large Party Room / Ballroom, Public Kitchen, Recycling and Painting Room, Gazebo, Back Patio, Large Outdoor Visitor Parking Lot and Various Seating Areas throughout the building.

Numerous committees are established to assist with the management of the building and activities for the residents.  The committees include Bicycles, By-Laws, Decorating, Finance, Infrastructure, Library, Publications, Refundables, Social, Woodworking.  Other groups are formed to assist in managing rentals of Guest Suites and Party Rooms or as needed for various situations.

Daily and weekly activities include coffee mornings (Monday through Saturday), Aquasize (3 mornings per week), Tai chi, Yoga, Bible Study, Book Club, Craft Time, Happy Hour (Friday evenings), Cue Sports, and Various Games (Cribbage, Scrabble, Euchre, Mexican Train Dominoes, 5 Crowns and Card Games).  There is also often one major Social activity per month (dinner, lunch, breakfast, bake sale, etc.).
